A native of Japan, Megumi came to the UK with her family at age 15, and has since developed a special interest in violin repertoire by English composers.
She has performed at the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, St John's Smith Square, the Houses of Parliament, and Buckingham Palace in the presence of HRH Prince Charles.

She is a soloist in residence at the Boots orchestra in Nottingham and the musician in residence at the Royal Marsden Hospital chapel, Chelsea.

Her performances of Walton's Violin Concerto were awarded first prize at the Croydon Festival and Brighton Springboard Festival.

After studying with Prof. Rashkovsky at Royal College of Music (MMus) as Sir Peter and Lady Walters Scholar, she continued to work with him as an assistant teacher with the London Music Masters scheme. Currently she holds a position as a violin teacher at Royal College of Music Junior Department.

She is a violinist in the CD album 'Light' by Robert Power, and has recorded the solo works by David Hackbridge Johnson: his solo violin sonata No.3 was premiered by Megumi and No.4 is dedicated to her.

Her frequent performances include concerts at the Holt Festival in Norfolk, Bristol Cathedral and charity concerts in London to support a nutrition centre in Turkana, Kenya.

She plays a beautiful Italian violin made by Antonio Testore 1740.

Megumi is very grateful for the generous support given by Florian Leonhard Fine Violins, Sir Peter and Lady Walters, the Philharmonia Orchestra Martin Musical Scholarship Fund.
